Silvio Bicciato is full professor of Industrial Bioengineering at the Department of Life Sciences of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He is author of more than 100 publications in international journals and books, of proceedings of international conferences, and of 2 international patents. He has an h-index of 31, a total IF of 803, and an average IF of 8.83. He is the Head of the Bioinformatics Core of the Center for Genome Research – University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He is Unit coordinator of several research projects financed by national and international funding agencies. He has been the scientific coordinator of Operating Units in ERC, AIRC, FIRB, PRIN, and ONCOSUISSE projects. He has been the Principal Investigator in two grants of excellence funded by bank foundations in Padova and in Modena. He is teaching the classes of Bioinformatics (School of Biotechnologies), Analysis of Genomes (School of Medical Biotechnologies), Principles of Metabolic Engineering (School of Industrial Biotechnologies) and Bioinformatics (Graduate School in Molecular and Regenerative Medicine). He is serving as the Chair of the School of Industrial Biotechnologies of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia
